The Faculty of Economics and Business, Trisakti University was established on November 29, 1965. At the beginning of its establishment, it had only one study program, namely the Corporate Economics Study Program. During the leadership of Drs. Hariry Hadi as the first Dean (1965-1968) began to make improvements, both in the field of organization, teaching staff, administrative staff, and especially in the field of facilities and infrastructure. The Corporate Economics Study Program was upgraded to “Recognized” through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 51/1966 dated July 14, 1966.
During the leadership period of Mulyatno Sindhudarmoko, SE (1968-1978), the Accounting Study Program was opened. In addition to improvements in the fields of Education and Teaching, Research and Community Service received serious attention with the signing of the cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Business, Trisakti University with several Departments and Regional Governments of DKI to carry out Applied Research activities and Community Service activities.
Under the leadership of Drs. Saroso, Ak. (1978-1986) The Semester Credit Unit Education System began to be implemented referring to the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 0124/U/1979 dated June 8, 1979 and No. 0211/U/1982 dated June 6, 1982. Development from the point of view of the Study Program was seen with the opening of the Economics and Development Studies Study Program in 1985. The Management Study Program was upgraded to “Recognized” by the Decree of the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture, No. 0267/O/1981 and became “Equalized” with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 413/O/1985 dated October 1, 1985. The Accounting Study Program was upgraded to “Recognized” based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 0334/ 0 /1985 dated 27 July 1985.
During the leadership period of Drs. Sudarno Sastrosubando (1986-1989) the status of the Study Program of Economics and Development Studies was upgraded from an operational permit to “Registered” by Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number: 0213/O/1987 dated April 11, 1987 and “Recognized” by Decree Number: 023/O/ 1989 dated 27 April 1989. In addition, the status of the Accounting Study Program became “Equalized” through Decree No. 023/O/1989 dated 27 April 1989.
Drs. Yuswar Zainul Basri, Ak, served as Dean for 2 (two) periods (1989-1995). During this period, two programs were introduced to reduce the number of students dropping out of study and to improve the quality of graduates, namely the Tutoring Program to reduce the number of students dropping out and the Remedial Semester program to help improve the quality of graduates. The Economics and Development Studies Study Program is “Equaled” by Decree No. 494/DIKTI/KEP/1993, dated August 16, 1993, while the Management and Accounting Study Program was re-assigned “Equalized” status by Decree No. 098/DIKTI/KEP/1994, April 9, 1994.
Dr. Chairuman Armia, MA, who was entrusted to be the head of the Faculty of Economics and Business in the period 1995 – 2001 has one mission to bring the Faculty of Economics and Business of Trisakti University to be known in the world of international education. During this period, the partnership with Edith Cowan University Australia was opened as an initial pilot for a double degree program. During this period, the three study programs within the Faculty of Economics and Business obtained Accreditation A status.
In the period 2002 – 2011, the Faculty of Economics and Business at Trisakti University was led by Prof. Dr. Hj. Farida Jasfar, ME, PhD. During this period, the School of Economics and Business has opened the Excellence class program, expanding collaboration for dual degree programs with Indiana University Purdue University Indiana Polis (UIPUI) and the University of Missouri St Louis (MSL). In addition, several study programs have been opened, such as: Masters and Doctoral Programs in Economics with a concentration in Sharia Economics and Finance (2002), Masters in Management with a concentration in Hospitality Management (2004), Masters in Economics (2005), Accounting Education Program (PPAk) in 2006. The Applied Undergraduate Study Program (D4) in Finance was established in 2008. The Diploma 3 program, namely the D3 Public Sector Accounting, D3 Finance and Islamic Banking, and D3 Service Management (2008), as well as the Doctoral Program in Accounting (2010). In addition, during this period there was also a change in the curriculum to 144 credits for the three Study Programs. In this period, reaccreditation has been carried out 2 times for the three Study Programs, namely the period 1999 – 2004, and the period 2004 – 2010, where the result is that the three Study Programs are still able to maintain the accreditation status of A.
In September 2012, the period 2011-2012 Trisakti University Faculty of Economics and Business was led by Prof. Dr. Sofyan S. Harahap (late) and continued by Prof. Dr. H. Yuswar Z. Basri, Ak, MBA as Acting Dean until May 2012. In June 2012, the 2012/2013 academic year period until the 2019/2020 academic year, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Trisakti University was led by Prof. Dr. Bambang Sudaryono, Ak.
Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, MM become the Dean of FEB USAKTI for 2020 – 2025. At the beginning of her leadership, FEB Universitas Trisakti received QS Stars 3 Certification. The Bachelor of Development Economics Study Program also received international AUN-QA certification, and the Accounting Masters Study Program received ISO 9100-2015. FEB Usakti also extended the Accreditation of Master of Accounting Study Programs (Maksi), Accountant Profession (PPA), and D3 MICE. In July 2021 FEB Usakti received an Indonesian Student Micro Credential grant (KMMI). In addition, in order to strengthen the implementation of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) curriculum, an Outcome-based Education (OBE) approach policy was formulated. In order to respond to industry needs and developments in environmental conditions, a policy was formulated to implement the Free Learning curriculum – Independent Campus, and carry out the process of teaching and learning activities online/online in the 2020/2021 academic year and also in the upcoming 2021/2022 academic year.
